The assembled piece can rotate a full 360, and the base provides a dedicated resting place while catching remaining drips. The rotating structure is a base feature and is not claimed to improve steeping, extraction, or filtering performance.  The strainer measures approximately 4.21 in (107 mm) in diameter and 3.70 in (94 mm) high, while the base measures approximately 4.72 in (120 mm) in diameter. Product diameter is not a cupfit range, so measure the cup opening before ordering and confirm that its rim can support the strainer securely. Very fine tea particles may pass through or collect in the holes. Hand wash only and handle both ceramic pieces with care.
