Handthrown on a pottery wheel and highfired, the functional Bean Pot allows you to soak, bake, and serve, moving directly from oven to table. The durable stoneware clay insulates food, keeping it warm when served and allows the bean pot to be used safely in the oven, microwave, freezer, and dishwasher. Handmade in the USA, the Misty Meadow Collection features functional stoneware with a glossy sage green and speckled white glaze that blends organically, reminiscent of a soft fog rolling across an earthy meadow. How else can I use a Bean Pot? Although designed with baked beans and legumes in mind, the versatile bean pot may also be used to create other flavorful dishes including chili, fruit crumble, potato salad, minestrone, casseroles, soups, stews, pot roast, and dips served warm! Note: Each piece in the Cranberry Marsh collection is discreetly handsigned on the bottom by the studio, along with the heartfelt inscription Jesus Saves (see photo). This is a quiet reflection of the artists personal faith and reflects the spirit imbued into each handmade item. Note: ceramic stoneware should only be used in oven or microwave not safe for a direct flame or stovetop. As with all ceramic kitchenware, stoneware should not be placed in a refrigerator or placed in water when hot or in a stove/microwave when chilled. Always begin from room temperature.
