BOAC Vickers VC10

The Vickers VC10 is a British jet airliner known for its elegant design, powerful Rolls-Royce Conway engines, and ability to operate from hot and high airports. It was designed for long-range routes and was particularly well-suited for routes to Africa and Asia, where many airports were challenging for other early jet airliners. While it didn't achieve the same commercial success as some competitors, it became an icon and served with the Royal Air Force (RAF) for many years. BOAC stands for British Overseas Airways Corporation. It was a British state-owned airline that existed from 1939 to 1974. In 1974, BOAC merged with British European Airways (BEA) to form the current British Airways.
