British Caledonian Airbus A310

The Airbus A310 is a shortened derivative of the Airbus A300. It was initially designated the A300B10 and designed to be a smaller option for airlines that didn't need the capacity of the A300. The A310 project was launched in July 1978, with Swissair and Lufthansa as the initial customers. A total of 255 Airbus A310 aircraft were built. Production of the A310 spanned from 1983 to 1998.  As of January 2025, only 33 A310s remain in service, primarily as cargo aircraft or with military operators. British Caledonian Airways (BCal) was a private independent airline in the UK that operated from 1970 to 1988.
