Grumman E-2 Hawkeye

The Grumman E-2 Hawkeye is an American twin-turboprop, all-weather, carrier-capable tactical airborne early warning (AEW) aircraft. It serves as an airborne command and control, battle space management, and early warning aircraft for the US Navy and other allied forces. It is integral to Carrier Strike Group air wings. The Hawkeye acts as a flying command center, capable of coordinating various missions, including air interdiction, offensive and defensive counter air control, and communications relay. The E-2D integrates features like the Cooperative Engagement Capability (CEC) system for enhanced data sharing within the Carrier Strike Group and joint forces. Over 400 Grumman E-2 Hawkeye aircraft have been built across all variants. Specifically, 313 units of the E-2C and earlier models were produced, and the E-2D is still in production.
