Grumman G-21 Goose

The Grumman G-21 Goose is a remarkable amphibious aircraft with a rich history and a versatile range of applications. Originally developed in the mid-1930s as a "commuter" aircraft, the G-21 was Grumman's first commercially produced, twin-engine monoplane. Designed for both land and water operations, it features an all-metal build with a hull-like fuselage and retractable landing gear. The Goose saw extensive use in both civilian and military roles. It served commercial airlines and was popular in remote regions. During World War II, it was utilized by Allied forces for transport, reconnaissance, rescue, and training. Today, approximately 30 Gooses remain airworthy. A total of 345 Grumman G-21 Goose aircraft were built between 1937 and 1945, according to aviation resources. While many were used by military branches like the US Navy and Coast Guard, they were also popular for civilian use as well.
