LIAT ATR 42

The ATR 42 is a regional airliner produced by Franco-Italian manufacturer ATR, with final assembly in Toulouse, France. It's a twin-turboprop aircraft designed for regional routes.  The ATR 42 has several variants with differing engines, propellers, and performance characteristics, including the ATR 42-300, ATR 42-320, ATR 42-400, ATR 42-500, and ATR 42-600. Production of the ATR 42-300 ceased in 1996. The ATR 42-600 is the latest version, which entered service in 2012.The ATR 42 is assembled on the same production line as the larger ATR 72, which streamlines production and supports both aircraft types. ATR's production rate has varied over the years, with 76 aircraft delivered in 2018 and 35 aircraft delivered in 2024. ATR anticipates a stabilization in deliveries in 2025 and hopes to increase production in the coming years.

LIAT was a low-cost airline operating out of Antigua and Barbuda, which offers flights across the Caribbean that operated from 1974 to 2024.
