MBB BK-117

The MBB/Kawasaki BK 117 is a twin-engine, multi-purpose utility helicopter jointly developed by Messerschmitt-Bölkow-Blohm (MBB) of Germany and Kawasaki Heavy Industries of Japan. MBB was later acquired by Daimler-Benz and became part of Eurocopter, which is now known as Airbus Helicopters. A total of 443 MBB BK-117 helicopters were built. 329 were manufactured by MBB in Germany, and 111 were built by Kawasaki in Japan. There were also two prototypes built by MBB and one by Kawasaki. The Bk-117 was developed from the MBB Bo-105
