Frequently Asked Questions

What's the difference between the 12-hour battery and the 4-hour timer?

They measure two different things. The battery is how long the tower can run before it needs charging — up to twelve hours of misting on a full charge. The timer is how long it mists before shutting itself off — you pick a 1, 2 or 4-hour cycle. So a full charge covers roughly three 4-hour cycles, or a couple of weeks of shorter evening sessions.

Do I add water?

No. This is a waterless cold-fusion diffuser — the oil goes in neat and the machine atomizes it. Nothing to fill, nothing to pour out.

How long does a charge last?

Up to twelve hours of run time on the low setting. Charge it over USB and leave it off the outlet for the day.

Does it shut off on its own?

Yes. Set the timer to 1, 2 or 4 hours and it stops when the cycle ends, so you can start it before bed and not think about it.

How big a room will it handle?

One tower comfortably covers a bedroom, office or living room. For an open floor plan, run it on high with a shorter timer rather than leaving it going all day.

Which oils fit it?

Our 100 ml (3.4 oz) diffusing oils — Wild Ginger, Balsam Fir, Affection and Pillow Talk. Bottles are sold separately.

How long does a bottle last in it?

Most people get a couple of months from one bottle running it a few evenings a week on low.

What about pets?

Cats are sensitive to a handful of oils — tea tree, peppermint, eucalyptus, cinnamon, clove and wintergreen come up most often. If your cat has reacted to a scented product before, start on low and give the room some air. Birds have very sensitive airways, so we'd suggest not placing a diffuser in the same space as one. We do not use any of these oils at this time.
