The Stearman Model 75, also known as the Boeing-Stearman or Kaydet, is a renowned American biplane. It was a primary trainer aircraft during World War II, used by the United States Army Air Forces (USAAF) as the PT-17 and the United States Navy (USN) as the N2S. The Royal Canadian Air Force also utilized it as the Kaydet. The Model 75 served as the foundational aircraft for a vast number of American military pilots during World War II, training more of them than any other plane in the 11 years it was in production. Built by the Stearman Aircraft Company (later a division of Boeing) from 1934 to 1945, over 8,428 were built for the U.S. military. The PT-17 was the most common variant.
