Refillable Candle Vessels — Sedona Sky Scent Collection

The same hand-thrown Arizona pottery as our Harmonie vessels, poured with a candle from the Sedona Sky range instead. Thirteen scents, seven glaze colors, and a vessel that outlives the candle inside it.

If you would rather have the Harmonie fragrances — Wild Ginger, Pillow Talk, Mystique and the rest — those are on the Harmonie refillable vessels. If you only want the pottery, buy the empty 14 oz vessel.

Scents in this collection

Balsam Fir, Blue Birch, Fleur d'Orange, Honeysuckle, Lavender, Lemongrass Energy, Lilac, Pink Sugar Sweetness, Pumpkin Spice Abundance, Santal Desire, Shiraz Jasmine and Vanilla Bean Soothing. Several of these are only available in vessel form.

Seven glaze colors

White, Dark Red, Bright Red, Dark Blue, Bright Blue, Green and Yellow, each glazed by hand. Color depth and pooling vary from piece to piece.

What's inside

Coconut wax on a lead-free cotton wick, poured into the vessel in our Scottsdale studio. Nothing about the candle is disposable except the wax.

Why we make them refillable

A conventional candle asks you to throw away the container every time. This one does not. You buy the pottery once and keep refilling it — a refill runs about 40% less than a new candle, and nothing but the wax is replaced. When the vessel is empty, write to us and we will send a prepaid return box; your refilled vessel comes back in about two weeks, in whichever scent you want next.

After the candle

The clay is food-safe, dishwasher-safe and microwave-safe. Wash it out and it is a bowl — soup, oatmeal, ice cream, salsa — or a soap dish, or a home for a small succulent.

Care

Trim the wick to a quarter inch before each burn, keep the first burn short, and stop when half an inch of wax remains. Let the last wax set hard before easing it out with a spoon.

How is this different from the Harmonie vessels?

Only the scent range. The pottery, the glazes and the refill arrangement are identical. See the Harmonie vessels.

What does a refill involve?

You keep the vessel and we pour a fresh candle into it. Write to us when yours is empty and we will send a prepaid return box. It comes back in about two weeks, at roughly 40% less than the price of a new candle.

Are the scents the same as your amber glass candles?

Many of them are. Balsam Fir, Blue Birch, Honeysuckle, Lavender, Lemongrass and Santal Desire are all in the Sedona Sky range. Lilac, Pink Sugar Sweetness, Pumpkin Spice Abundance and Shiraz Jasmine are vessel-only.

Is the vessel really food-safe?

Yes — food-safe, dishwasher-safe and microwave-safe, once you have cleaned the wax out.

Will two vessels match?

Not exactly. They are thrown and glazed by hand, so each one differs in size, glaze depth and surface. If you want a pair that reads as a set, order the same glaze color and expect close cousins rather than twins.
