Dry promptly and thoroughly with a lintfree cloth or paper towel.Preheat your cookware. To ensure even heating, gradually preheat the pot on a hob of a similar diameter.Since cast iron holds heat, its not necessary to use a heat setting above medium. This helps prevent food from sticking. Dont forget to use a hot handle mitt!Once your pan is preheated, add a very light layer of cooking oil (any cooking oils and fats can be used for seasoning cast iron, but we recommend vegetable oil, coconut, or canola oil) onto the surface of your pan.
