TWA Lockheed Constellation

The Lockheed Constellation, affectionately known as the "Connie", was a revolutionary propeller-driven airliner built by Lockheed Corporation. Starting in 1943, this four-engined aircraft played a pivotal role in the advancement of both civilian and military air travel. The Constellation series, particularly the L-049 variant entering commercial service in 1946, revolutionized air travel by introducing the pressurized cabin and facilitating faster, more comfortable long-distance flights. A total of 856 Lockheed Constellation aircraft were built, according to Wikipedia. The production spanned from 1943 to 1958, encompassing various models, both for military and civil use. TWA received its first Constellation on October 1, 1945, and began commercial service with it in early 1946.
