These petite butter pots are sized for individual servings of butter, salt and pepper or any other condiments. They are also great for prepping herbs and spices for cooking, or dotted throughout a grazing table for nuts, olives (or olive pits), or honey. Elevate your dinner table with surprisingly multi-functional and useful classic little pots.
The classic silhouettes- once found in cafés and homes across France, date back hundreds of years. Earthy, functional, and quietly beautiful, these pieces are no longer in production and available only in limited quantities, made to be used, loved, and passed down.
Product Overview
These specific pieces are no longer in production, so we are excited to share these rare treasures with our community.
Discovered in a centuries-old factory on the grounds of a château in France’s Loire Valley, this vintage stoneware was crafted from local clay and finished with a traditional salt glaze. Each piece has a naturally textured surface and a durability made for daily use.
In 1847, Stanislas Renault chose to build his company in the Loire Valley as it is home to some of the finest clay in France. Renault employed a unique salt-glazing technique; throwing salt into the kiln at peak temperature to achieve a glassy, textured finish.
Five generations later, the company has ceased production but its pieces remain iconic, classic French silhouettes dating back to the 1600s. Rendered in earthy hues, they’re sturdy ceramics with delicate, handmade details. With a bit of a cult status among vintage kitchenware collectors, these pieces are unique, and limited in supply.
*Please note that because these pieces are vintage, each one is unique, and there might be slight imperfections and variations in the size, color, or glaze of a product.
