The Waco F series aircraft is a line of American-built open-cockpit biplanes produced by the Waco Aircraft Company, primarily known for their roles as general aviation and military trainers in the 1930s.The F series was popular among private pilots and military organizations. The UPF-7 variant was widely adopted by the Civilian Pilot Training Program, with over 600 units built by 1942. Some F series aircraft were also used as military trainers by the United States Army Air Corps (designated as the PT-14) and the United States Navy. While the original Waco Aircraft Company ceased operations after World War II, the F series, particularly the YMF model, has remained popular with private owners and has even seen renewed production by WACO Classic Aircraft starting in 1986.Over 600 F series aircraft were built between 1930 and 1942. Waco was one of the leading aircraft manufacturers leading up to World War II, but the company disappeared shortly after the end of the war. However, the F series remained popular with owners through the next several decades and many remain in service today.
