The IAI Westwind I, also known as the IAI 1124 or Westwind 1, is a twin-engine business jet manufactured by Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) between 1976 and 1987. It evolved from the Aero Commander 1121 Jet Commander, with IAI acquiring the production rights in 1968. The IAI Westwind I came from the Aero Commander 1121 Jet Commander, which was designed in the United States. IAI acquired the production rights in 1968 and continued to develop the aircraft, leading to the 1124 Westwind. The IAI 1124 was later designated the Westwind I in 1981. Production of the Westwind series ended in 1987.A total of 292 Westwind I aircraft were built. The Westwind I was an upgrade of the Jet Commander, featuring Garrett TFE731 turbofans and a slightly stretched fuselage. Production of the Westwind I ended in 1987, with production shifting to the Westwind II.
